Another collaboration with DERT in designing children’s books of either an existing fictional story or one that is self-derived.
The project is a recreation of the tale My Shadow by Robert Louis Stevenson (1885) that revolves around a young boy who had just discovered his shadow for the first time. Therefore, my concept for this project is based around bringing the Shadow to life and giving it a gender-neutral pronoun that establishes a portrait of the imaginary friend. Adapted and illustrated with a new style, Stevenson’s revised poem has a more playful and curious approach towards learning about the world around us. Illustrated, designed and composed by me. Printed by DERT and currently available for purchase online here.
